The Next Chapter in the Snow Ridge Chronicles Comes Out in May!

The next book by Lisa Doyle, appears May 10, just in time to be added to your summer reading list!

Last we visited Snow Ridge, the quiet upper-crust town in the far west suburbs of Chicago, we got to see how Bethany and Ash (the new girl in town) upended the old ways between established families and new money through a less-than-well thought out plan and an introduction to feminism. It's a long journey, but the strides they made in a year went a long way towards changing the school, and town, forever. 

Now, in Lisa's next book, we learn more about Ella, a new girl in town. Her parents just divorced, her mom has a new job that moved them away from Chicago, and now she has to contend with the queen of the sophomore class. Grace is the up-and-coming head of campus but she faces a formidable opponent in Ella, who just wanted to find something at Snow Ridge that makes her happy. Unfortunately, that something was the cheer team - the closest thing to gymnastics the school had in the fall - and Ella ends up on the squad while "perfect" Grace was left off. That's just the beginning as Ella finds herself on the wrong side of nearly everything Grace had planned for the year. 

Reading this book as a publisher, I found Lisa's writing has strengthened from one book to the next. Her characters are developing more fully and her story continues to be real with the young adult audience. As a reader, I found nuggets of joy whenever characters from the first book appeared in this second one. The Snow Ridge universe is coming into a more vivid picture and it leads to a high school on the verge of a massive change for the entire campus. By the time I finished reading this the first time, I was ready to find out where Lisa would take us next. I'm certain you'll feel the same way with Longcuts!
